Evgenia Brendes was born on April 23, 1989, in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. At the age of eleven, she moved to Belgium with her parents and settled in Antwerp. It was there that she joined the Russian theater company Antwerpriza, where she discovered her passion for acting. Alongside her love for drama, Evgenia has been an accomplished dancer and pianist since the age of five.
In 2014, she earned her Master’s degree in Acting from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Since graduating, she has performed in various theater productions, including Medea (ITA), De Kersentuin (tgSTAN), King Lear (Het Paleis and Zuidelijk Toneel), Ondine (HNT), and Dounia B (Het Paleis and Marhatentatief). For her role in Dounia B, Evgenia was honored with the 'Most Appreciated Theater Actress' award in Belgium.
In addition to her theater career, Evgenia has landed several notable roles in television and film. She played one of the lead roles in Manu Riche’s film Problemski Hotel and went on to star in two seasons of the Flemish series Over Water, which aired on VRT and is currently available on Netflix. She also appeared in the fourth season of the popular Dutch series Mocro Maffia and most recently starred in the Belgian series Styx.
In 2025, Evgenia will be featured in the second season of the acclaimed Netflix series De Twaalf.
